Note: In 2007 the Federal EPA revised the National Ambient Air Quality Standard for PARTICULATE MATTER(2.5) maximum 24-hour concentrations to a lower threshold. An equivalent revision is appropriate for the Air Quality Index, but EPA has not yet provided one. However, many air quality reporting organizations have modified their local reports and forecasts to reflect the new standard more accurately. In June 2008, we similarly revised the threshold between moderate and unhealthy for sensitive groups in the report displayed below. (more information) |
